Highly recommended to add these in your diet

Are you lost in superfood world or you are not sure what food to include in your diet? Don't worry, I'm here to help you out! Even if you eat healthy already, there are some things I highly recommend adding. There are some foods that are more nutritious than others, that's why they are called superfoods. Superfoods are rich in minerals, antioxidants and other vitamins that are vital for our health.

Healthy diet - add these foods in your diet

With superfoods, I don't only mean baobab powders and goji-berries. Even some "normal foods" like broccoli are superfoods, since their nutrient content is so good.

Did you know that our bodies are doing kind of detox all the time? "Detox" in the body is happening automatically all the time, when the liver is doing the cleaning work for us. We face a huge amount of chemicals every day, both form the environment and from the food we eat. The liver then works very hard to clean these toxins out of the body. That's why I recommend eating organic and clean - and also nutrition rich food.

If the liver is not getting enough nutrients, it cannot do its job properly - and all toxins are then stored in your body. If you want to help your liver doing the purifying work, you need to give your body enough nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants.

If you want to help your body to do the detoxifying process for you and get the best out of yourself, I highly recommend adding these foods into your diet:

  • Start your day with green powders. Green powders are packed with essential vitamins and antioxidants, and are a great for filling any gaps you have in the diet. One serving of green powders equals several portions of vegetables. I usually add the green powder to my morning smoothie, or I mix it with water and lemon juice and drink before breakfast. There are several options to choose from, kale powder, spinach and spirulina for example, and also a lot of nice mixtures.

  • Liver needs protein in order to do its work, and organic, grass-fed whey protein is one of the bests sources helping out meeting your protein needs! I’m eating a lot of eggs, beans, lentils, turkey and sometimes red meat - buying bio as often as possible. But I use whey and hemp protein to make my life easier. A green smoothie with 30g of whey protein is a perfect kick-starter for the day!

  • When talking about protein, lentils are super-foods packed with protein, good carbs, fiber and nutrients. Did you know that eating lentils two times a week helps to lower bad blood cholesterol?

  • Green tea and especially matcha green tea is very antioxidant and protects us against cancer. Matcha green tea has 137 times more antioxidants than normal green tea! It detoxifies effectively and is also rich in fiber ad vitamins.

Healthy diet - add these foods into your diet

  • Broccoli and all other cabbage foods. While low in calories, broccoli is rich in essential vitamins and minerals, and is also a good source of fiber. Broccoli is a great source of vitamins C and K, and it also has folate, vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and some iron.

  • Berries are nature’s own super foods, full of antioxidants and vitamins. I try to eat berries every day.

  • Good fats are very important and avocado is my favorite! Avocado has a very optimal fatty acid profile and is also a good source of dietary fiber, folate, vitamin B6, potassium, vitamins E and C. Although avocados are fruits, they are almost carbohydrate free.

  • Omega 3 fatty acids. I take it as a supplement, because it is difficult to get enough from the diet alone. Omega 3 fatty acids are essential for overall health, and are maybe one of the most important nutrients today. Omega 3 is especially important for the heart health, for immune system and also helps to lower bad blood cholesterol. But be careful when buying the supplement, because there is a huge difference in quality!

  • High quality multivitamin supplement. Besides green powders, a good multivitamin is a great way to fill the gaps there might be in the diet. I eat very healthy, but I know that I don’t manage to eat perfectly every day.

Is there anything in this list that you are missing at the moment or do you already eat all of these? of course there are plenty of other good and nutritions food as well, but this is just my top 10. Is there something that I forgot to mention?

Have a beautiful day!

Hugs,

Anni
